Finn is windblown and rough around the edges. His hair is bleached from long years in the sun, and his skin tanned and rough. He looks most natural on a horse.

Finn is a very simple man, with a great deal of pride. He is loyal to his family first, but the ranch follows at a close second. He has few wants in life, and is content with the simple pleasures in life. He believes you must work hard for what you want, and has a firm belief in justice.

Background

Life before Daingerfield:
Phineas was born in Alabama, to a large family who ran a cherry orchard. As he was growing up, in addition to helping his family he began working for a local rancher, helping to drive the heard each season and earning the family a good sum of money for his work.

His older brothers took up full time work in the orchard, while Finn moved on to working on the ranch all season.

He later married the rancher’s daughter Penny, and they moved to the city, where Finn had taken up factory work so that they might be able to send their child to school. Penny’s pregnancy had gone well, and none could have guessed the difficulties she’d have during labor. While the child made it she did not, and Finn was left to raise Danton on his own.

He worked in the factory another two years, nannies carrying for his son, before an incident forced them to leave. He made his way west and joined a ranch far from his troubles back home.

How did they come to Daingerfield:
Finn came across Daingerfield quite by accident. He and his companions (and young Danton, who had insisted he be brought on his first cattle run, and rode with Finn) had been working in driving the heard to market when a small section broke loose. Finn volunteered to track them down, but though he followed their trail for some time he couldn’t find them. Turning back he found he couldn’t find any traces of the original trail either.

It was several days before he spotted a town on the horizon, and a worn sign announced it as ‘Daingerfield’. Though he had never heard of it before, in all his travels, he found the town to be a pleasant place, and, much to his surprise, the cattle who had broken off from the heard were waiting for him on the outskirts, grazing calmly.

Finn took this as a sign, and had run his own ranch just outside the town for many years now. He has a good heard established, and every now and then a few new workers will show up.

Surviving Daingerfield:
Finn has lived happily in Daingerfield for 10 years now. The ranch has established itself, and though they have had trouble with Sand Pirates, it is holding steady. Finn’s biggest worry now is Danton, who has entered that pesky stage of adolescence .
